I’ve been lurking The Takeout a bit lately. It’s entertaining.
When I make Jello, I like to use my brain molds. I have a big hemispherical one and a set for smaller, bite-sized brains. I especially like to make panna cotta brains inspired by Alton Brown’s recipe.

You better bring some meatballs to apologize with.

My mother in-law was a brain slicer for a while, she would love this.

It is pretty entertaining - as an added bonus, it seems to be based in Chicago, so it’s pretty easy for me to relate to the writers.

For real entertainment, feed Jello to clueless vegetarians.

That’s a great article (my Thanksgivings are spent in Missouri & Illinois).

Makes sense - I’m sure there’s just too much tasty meat there.

Came for the comments about how the midwest is uncultured, did not leave disappointed.
(In The Takeout’s article, not yours)

Our family recipe for Jello involves white wine.

If anyone ever brought Jello to a family gathering, we’d probably kick them out of our family.

My favorite pie is one that involves jello mixed with cool whip

I always thought adding vodka or rum to jello (to make jello shots) would interfere with the setting of the gelatin, but nope. It was liver-punishingly delicious.

They did a piece a while back on how Chicago pizza is not all deep-dish. Pretty well-done.

Culture is relative, I mean that is our culture and it’s very highly refined . I think people get culture and something seemingly exotic from Asia (as an example) that we Americans are not used to mixed up with “a specific culture” .

Yes - I read it a week or so ago. It was written by a local, and I thought it was very accurate.

Even bacterial culture is still a culture. :P

I’m from the Midwest, but I’m a long ways from home. Thanksgiving for me will probably just be another day at work.
Maybe next year.
